My Gardening Journey

It All Began in 2016

I started a garden because of the high cost of fresh vegetables (and because our oldest daughter wanted cucumbers).

Start up costs

If you are resourceful it will cost you less than a $150.00 to build your green house and hydroponic beds, buy the seeds, fertilizes, and dirt.

Benefits

Fresh veggies right outside your back/side door, connecting with nature (plants love to listen to Hawaiian music and you talking to them), quiet time to de stress (unless there is something eating, or making them sick), and lovely flowers to adorn yourself or home with, just to new a few benefits.

I have a gardening question. I recently had a beet that got too soft to eat. I didn’t want to waste it so I put it in the ground. How often do beets need to be watered? Anyway site is working. Awesome site Auntie 🙂

I’m not sure, it says to stick your finger (or chop stick something that will show if the soil is damp) about 3 inches deep. If it’s slightly damp don’t water. If dry just water till damp, don’t drench.

I’d love to have a green house some day! Not sure I’d be dedicated enough though, to keep my plants alive. LOL. Maybe when I’m retired 😁
