A story of Cariss, Princess of the lost world of Atlantis, and Taliesin the foundling who became the Bard with the Mystical voice that could enchant his listeners. The story of their tragedies, endurance, faith and love.

Stephen Lawhead takes us back to the stories before the appearance of Marlin. When the Faery folks first made their way to the shores of Great Britain. The first siting of the Lady of the Lake, the decline of Druid influence and the spreading influence of Christianity.

Stephen Lawhead’s rendition of the King Author and Merlin sage is one of two ( the other being Mary Stewart’s) of my favorite tellings. I don’t want to give the story away, so I will just say that this is the third time I have read this book.
